Job Purpose

Will be directly responsible for machining quality components to stated specifications. Will be directly responsible for protecting machine tools from damage caused by “Crashes.” The ability to independently interpret specified requirements is a must. The position requires a high degree of independent thinking, attention to detail, and resourcefulness to translate specifications into component requirements and apply the best practices effectively. Work under direct supervision. Receives guidance with difficult technical and scheduling problems. Accuracy of machined components is required

Job Description

  • Learn to effectively retrieve, understand, and adhere to QAP documentation.
  • Gaining ability to use technical tools and instruments required to perform duties. Tools and instruments include but not limited to: Calipers, Micrometers, and Gauges.
  • Gain ability to properly read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
  • Gain ability to identify simple deviation in material requirements.
  • Gain ability to demonstrate fixturing, tool and machine offsets.
  • Gain the ability to read and interpret set-up documentation.
  • Gain ability to perform basic preventative maintenance/autonomous maintenance.
  • Develop and demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in addition to key performance objectives.
  • Learn and understand 5S principles.
  • Ability to learn to read and use measuring instruments.
  • Ability to train on a basic two-axis lathe or a saw.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous machining experience preferred.
  • Previous inspection experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in shop environment.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated math skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organization, interpersonal, and interaction skills.
