Job Purpose:

Provides high‑quality technical engineering solutions as part of a multidisciplinary project taskforce, in accordance with company standards, procedures, schedules, and budget, with a continuous focus on safety,

quality, risk control, and technical robustness. Based onshore, the Project Engineer is responsible for technical definition, verification, and follow‑up of engineering solutions across the project lifecycle. The role acts as a technical authority within assigned scope, ensuring that designs, analyses, and technical decisions are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.

At senior level, the role delivers technically complex engineering contributions, leads defined technical scopes, and supports projects through strong engineering judgment, structured problem‑solving, and effective

cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

Job Description:

Technical Engineering & Design

  • Develops, reviews, and approves engineering deliverables such as specifications, calculations, drawings, design basis, and technical documentation
  • Ensures engineering solutions are robust, fit for purpose, and compliant with applicable standards and requirements
  • Applies Design‑for‑Safety and lifecycle considerations in all technical decisions

Technical Assurance & Risk

  • Leads and contributes to technical risk assessments (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, technical reviews)
  • Identifies technical risks, limitations, and assumptions early and ensures mitigation actions are defined and implemented
  • Acts as a technical point of contact during deviations, changes, or non‑conformances

Technical Coordination & Interfaces

  • Coordinates technical interfaces across disciplines to ensure integrated and aligned solutions
  • Supports suppliers through technical reviews, clarifications, and verification of documentation
  • Ensures technical scope, boundaries, and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated

Verification, Testing & Compliance

  • Supports qualification, verification, and testing activities (e.g. FAT, SIT, acceptance reviews)
  • Ensures traceability, documentation quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle

Knowledge Sharing & Development

  • Guides and mentors less experienced engineers
  • Contributes to standardization, best practices, and continuous technical improvement

You are meant for this job if:

Required knowledge / formal education

  • BSc or MSc in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Subsea, Structural, Petroleum, Offshore/Ocean Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with emphasis on mechanical systems, hydraulics, and equipment behavior
  • Relevant experience from project‑based or execution‑oriented engineering environments
  • Good understanding of applicable industry standards, engineering governance, and HSE requirements
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Norwegian is an advantage

Preferred experience (not mandatory)

  • Practical engineering experience related to hydraulic systems, pumps, pressure equipment, piping, valves, rotating equipment, or mechanical handling systems
  • Experience working with equipment design, modification, troubleshooting, or technical verification
  • Exposure to offshore, marine, subsea, or energy‑related equipment and systems
  • Experience supporting testing, qualification, FAT/SIT, or acceptance activities
  • Familiarity with engineering calculations, system sizing, load assessments, or technical evaluations

Interpersonal skills

  • Clear and structured communicator, able to explain technical topics at different levels
  • Collaborative and professional in multidisciplinary environments
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented, with strong ownership of technical scope
  • Calm and methodical under technical or schedule pressure
  • High safety awareness and quality mindset

Technical / problem-solving skills

  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems, including how equipment behaves in real operating conditions
  • Ability to interpret, validate, and produce technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
  • Sound engineering judgment and structured problem‑solving approach
  • Comfortable identifying technical risks, limitations, and assumptions
  • Competent user of engineering tools (calculations, CAD viewers, document systems, Excel)

Managerial skills

  • Ability to plan and execute technical work packages independently
  • Accountable for technical quality, compliance, and robustness of solutions
  • Provides guidance and technical support to less experienced engineers
  • Contributes to standardization, best practices, and continuous technical improvement
