Job Purpose
Hiring Machinist II for Shingle Springs, CA location!
The Machinist II uses CNC machining equipment to develop and create machining processes. Utilizing well developed understanding of overall machining practices and a background in CNC machining application, this position adapts and improvises simple to complex tooling and fixtures to complete a machining assignment.
Hourly Rate: $27.67 - $37.43

Job Description
- Load appropriate tools for various jobs.
- Set up and operate a horizontal or vertical machining center or a lathe.
- Inspect and document features of the machined part (while in process and final inspection) with use of personal and shop inspection equipment.
- Retrieve programs from internal database.
- Inspect and document features of machined parts using calipers, micrometers, gage pins, and height gauges.
- Assess and apply appropriate machining solutions per instructions to both new and current manufacturing processes.
- Maintain shop equipment (inspect, document, and fill oil and coolant levels daily, clean equipment).
- Sweep, mop, and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Attend daily SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) meetings with the rest of the team at the beginning of each shift and apply concepts on a daily-basis.
- Other applicable duties, as assigned or required.
- Work overtime as required.
You are meant for this job if:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of machine shop experience
- Experience with set up and operations involving Fadal, Mori-Seiki, Mazak & Haas machines.
- Experience with doing setups on CNC mills or CNC lathes.
- Must have setup and production experience in close tolerance machined components.
- Must have a moderate understanding of tool geometry/ application/ speeds and feeds.
- Experience in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Understanding and operational knowledge of CNC milling and turning.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment effectively while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of machine set-up.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, listen and speak for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, and lift.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs as required.
- Frequent standing and sitting is also required.
- Required to work on concrete floors, wearing steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety goggles up to 10-12 hours per day.
