Job Purpose
We are looking for a Senior Process Control Engineer!
We are seeking a motivated Senior Engineer to join our global team specializing in Process Control for subsea oil and gas process systems. Process Control is a core competency in the Power & Processing (P&P) department. They are responsible for developing and designing the automation system controlling the subsea processing equipment, including control algorithms and operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation.
The Senior Process Control Engineer works as part of the system engineering team to ensure that the subsea processing equipment operates within its design limitations and that the system operation is robust and efficient. The work requires a thorough understanding of multiphase processing with expertise in process control and the design and implementation of closed loop control. To achieve this, the process control engineer collaborates closely with process, rotating equipment, high voltage power, flow assurance, instrumentation and control system disciplines within TechnipFMC.
Job Description
- Provide a high level of expertise on technical solutions and engineering innovations as the Process Control Lead Engineer in studies, FEEDs, tenders, projects and aftermarket service engineering.
- Define the process control strategy, identify and analyse risks associated with operation and control of the system.
- Write functional specifications and test procedures for implementation and testing.
- Develop and review safety requirements for the system at HAZOP and LOPA meetings with Clients.
- Facilitate and lead internal and external meetings, reviews and project face-to-face meetings towards the client and sub suppliers as required.
- Follow up Dynamic process simulation studies to verify system and process control functions.
- Efficiently contribute to the project delivery phase through presentations, meetings and interfaces towards other key internal project packages.
- Lead or support function testing of the subsea process control implemented in delivery or R&D projects.
- Participate and support as TechnipFMC representative during offshore commissioning and start-up.
- Provide operational support and consultation for problem solving and performance improvement as part of Life-of-Field service for Subsea Processing projects.
- Support the knowledge development within the discipline.
- Travel, both locally and internationally, should be expected.
You are meant for this job if:
- You have a BSc, MSc or PhD within Cybernetics, Chemical Engineering or a similar education with a strong focus on Process Control engineering.
- Formação: Engenharia química, Engenharia de controle e automação, Engenharia Elétrica – Pode ser eletricista, mas deixar claro que precisamos com conhecimento em controle de Processos.
- At least 10 years relevant experience. Experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
- Experience with subsea process systems and products such as pumps and separators.
- Experience designing and implementing process control in oil and gas systems.
- Experience in interfacing other sub-systems; especially Controls/Instruments, Flow Assurance, Process Engineering and Field Development.
- Experience with development and testing of process system components and full system solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn, a growth mindset, and can adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Fluent in English, (C1 or higher according to CEFR)
