Job Purpose

The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for working with our customers to design solutions to control, monitor and automate their industrial processes. On the senior level it is expected to demonstrate the ability to manage customer expectations and product quality from tendering through life of the field. This includes design and configuration of control systems of varying complexity and coaching peers in good design and better practices. The candidate must demonstrate process and project management skills to function effectively with customers, peers and the product development team.

Job Description

Architect, design, implement, unit test and deliver high quality, performant software applications. 
Work cross functionally with software, application, and quality engineers to ensure products meet engineering and client      success criteria.
Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements
Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization’s intellectual property and to better address customer needs.
 Present your designs and solutions to internal and external teams and review designs of software and quality engineers.
 Coordinate with QA team to develop test plans and test automation processes to increase automated functional tests.
Mentor team in development technologies, tools, and processes

Location: Tech Center, Ilha do Fundão - Rio de Janeiro

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher within Electronic, Controls & Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science or equivalent Engineering, with focus on industrial process control.
  • Active CREA
  • Advanced English
  •  Expereince in developing automated applications or research that invovled process automation
  • Experience within configuration and design of industrial control systems on the hardware, software or modelling side.
  •  Design, review and implement both the software and hardware components of a control system from instrumentation to the operator HMI.
  • Understand dynamics within linear and non-linear systems in general, but upstream oil and gas processes in special.
  • Release project documentation, according to International Standards and Customer requirements and present them for customer approval.
  • Understand pros and cons of industrial protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, serial, etc. and how they are used.
  • Advanced experience with multiple text and visual programming languages
  • Experience with Python programming is highly desirable
