Job Purpose

Developing and implementing improvements in projects and products, guiding support activities in execution and in the field, with a view to meeting the needs of internal and external customers in the area of Controls and Automation to which he/she belongs.

Job Description

  • Specification of electrical and optical control systems, including sensor harness. Approval of 3D model for electrical/optical distribution in equipment.
  • Definition of electrical/optical schematics for subsea sub-systems.
  • Organizing/conducting Design Review meetings, obtaining input for the project and implementing improvements.
  • Presentation of documentation relating to the technical solution of the scope of work at meetings with the client.
  • Interfacing with sub-suppliers and evaluating and approving the documentation received.
  • Potential lead in technical proposals.
  • Support for Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) related to their scope of work.
  • Supporting/interfacing with the planning, procurement, project management, industrial engineering and quality sectors with regard to their scope of work, including the assembly and testing stage on the final equipment (host).
  • Carrying out/interpreting electrical analysis to check voltage drop and correct sizing of topside and subsea power supply and communication systems.
  • Location: Pavuna, RJ

You are meant for this job if:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Control and Automation or similar.
  • CREA
  • Postgraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering, Subsea Production Systems, Control and Automation Engineering will be a plus.
  • Engineering experience, preferably in the oil and gas  industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems / electrical distribution systems and subsea optics, including knowledge of subsea instrumentation such as PT/TT, flow sensor (SPFM), multiphase sensor (MPFM), etc.
  • Knowledge of subsea production systems, preferably control systems.
  • Knowledge of risk matrix and risk assessment skills.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of international standards relating to subsea control systems (API17F, API6A, etc.). 
  • Advanced English
