Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Configuration Engineer Junior – Controls & Automation to join our team at the TechCenter. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multinational environment, supporting automation software configuration and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Description

  • Support the configuration of automation software (TechnipFMC proprietary systems: UCOS, InControl, SmartTool, and network components).
  • Generate and release technical configuration documentation within the company’s tools.
  • Assist in executing bench software tests and support plant startup activities.
  • Participate in planning meetings and activities related to Scrum and Lean methodologies.
  • Provide support to development, QA, and operations teams.
  • The role may require field support activities, such as commissioning and after‑sales, in accordance with local labor regulations.
  • The position may require participation in on‑call/standby duties.
  • This position will be open to rotations across different squads within the software team.
  • Location: Tech Center, Ilha do Fundão, RJ or Houston, TX 

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Control and Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • CREA
  • Intermediate English for reading and writing;
  • Practical in project environments (such as planning, procurement, assets, finance, etc.).
  • Knowledge of control systems and configuration tools.
  • Knowledge of Control & Automation processes, including: Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics, Understanding of instrumentation, I/Os, sensors, actuators, Understanding of plant control logic, ensuring that software configuration correctly reflects equipment operation
  • Basic understanding of agile methodology (not limited to SCRUM, but with preference for candidates familiar with it)
  • Programming in high‑level languages: Python, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Programming in mid‑level languages: C, C++, C#, Java
  • Knowledge of quality and organizational methodologies: 5S, ITIL
  • Experience with industrial networks: Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus
  • Theoretical knowledge of automation and software test execution

Desired Knowledge

  • SCADA or industrial network monitoring systems
  • Git (version control)
