Job Purpose

The Control and Automation Engineer is responsible for working with our customers to design solutions to control, monitor and automate their industrial processes.  It is expected to demonstrate the ability to manage customer expectations and product quality, including design and configuration of control systems, contribute to new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative automation solutions. The candidate must demonstrate process and project management skills to function effectively with customers, peers and the product development team.

Job Description

Architect, design, implement, unit test and deliver high quality, performant software applications.

Work cross functionally with software, application, and quality engineers to ensure products meet engineering and client      success criteria.

Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements

Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization’s intellectual property and to better address customer needs.

Present your designs and solutions to internal and external teams and review designs of software and quality engineers.

Coordinate with QA team to develop test plans and test automation processes to increase automated functional tests.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher within Electronic, Controls & Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science or equivalent Engineering, with focus on industrial process control.
  • Active CREA
  • Advanced English
  • Experience in developing automated applications or research that involved process automation
  • Experience within configuration and design of industrial control systems on the hardware, software or modelling side.
  • Design, review and implement both the software and hardware components of a control system from instrumentation to the operator HMI.
  • Understand dynamics within linear and non-linear systems in general, but upstream oil and gas processes in special.
  • Release project documentation according to International Standards and Customer requirements and present them for customer approval.
  • Understand pros and cons of industrial protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, serial, etc. and how they are used.
  • Advanced experience with multiple text and visual programming languages
  • Experience with Python programming is highly desirable
