Job Purpose

Regional Legal Manager Latin America will serve as a center of excellence for general legal operations, including (under the supervision of the Regional Legal Director & Compliance Counsel, LATAM), the management of local litigation/arbitration; local law; local outside counsel; local legal strategy; local corporate support; and support to other Legal SME´s when required (i.e. local IP matters, local contractual matters, etc).

Job Description

Senior Regional Manager for Latin America Legal Operations; Specialist in local legislation and acting as a focal point supporting legal operations, including but not limited to pre-dispute management / litigation / arbitration; management of external offices;

Local legal strategy;

Support for corporate management, regulatory management, execution of contracts (except for clients);

Support for the compliance and intellectual property team;

Support for HR with labor issues and other support and crisis management functions.

You are meant for this job if:

Bachelor’s Degree required in law; Master’s Degree or equivalent preferred

Work experience in Legal

Knowledge of contracts and local legislation, preferably in the oil and gas sector

Knowledge of contracts and local legislation, preferably in the oil and gas area, involved in contractual and fiscal aspects, vessel strategies

Knowledge in areas such as litigation, corporate, regulatory maritime, internal department management.

Strong communication and presentation skills

Negotiations skills and experience

Demonstrates effective management knowledge, leadership, and motivation in a dynamic business environment and can operate and perform within a matrix organization

Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Fluent verbal and written English. Spanish desirable

Additional Skills

Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant legal software as required
