Job Purpose

Provide technical support for the Control and Automation systems of TechnipFMC’s PLSV vessel fleet, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of flexible line-laying systems. Support maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, and continuous improvement of automation systems, ensuring that all modifications and installations comply with technical standards, legal requirements, and the company’s internal standards.

Job Description

  • Provide technical support for Control and Automation systems across TechnipFMC's PLSV fleet.
  • Support offshore crews, maintenance teams, project teams, and suppliers during maintenance, commissioning, and upgrade activities.
  • Review, validate, and technically approve hardware and software change requests through the MAF system.
  • Develop engineering solutions for modernization and improvement of Pipelay equipment control and automation systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications for components, instruments, equipment, and control systems.
  • Investigate failures and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability.
  • Review technical documentation, electrical and hydraulic diagrams, and control logic.
  • Ensure control systems are installed, modified, and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations, legal requirements, and TechnipFMC standards.
  • Contribute to safe and efficient offshore operations.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Control and Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering with specialization in Industrial Automation.
  • Intermediate to advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with Siemens and Schneider PLCs.
  • Experience with SCADA systems (InTouch, ArchestrA, and Citect).
  • Knowledge of HMIs, Wonderware Historian, and ABB, Schneider, and Siemens Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Experience with PLC programming languages, including Ladder, Grafcet, and SCL.
  • Knowledge of Step7, TIA Portal, Control Expert, DriveWindow, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks such as PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, and PROFIBUS DP.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings.
  • Availability for occasional offshore assignments on the fleet vessels.
  • Availability for international travel, when applicable.
