Job Purpose

Create the strategies needed to implement flow assurance processes and activities (according to methodologies defined internally, by the industry and by the client) in the development of projects and products.

Job Description

  • Leading the Flow Assurance discipline and supporting the group leader in these activities. Aligning the chosen strategy with internal and external technical experts, managers and directors, as necessary, in order to define the scope of work, deliverables and performance standards, monitoring the progress of the program's activities with those involved, acting to ensure execution within the specified timeframe and monitoring the impact of the chosen technical solutions on the project/product.
  • Acting in the development of the Flow Assurance discipline locally and being responsible for the delivery of documents according to the standards, methodologies, available tools and processes established by the global discipline team, in accordance with industry standards, internal and customer requirements;
  •  
  • Support the analysis of technical document(s) (e.g. project proposal, project scope, product specifications) to define/identify Flow Assurance activities, set expectations and provide appropriate and acquired support to the needs of the local team; 
  • Supporting Flow Assurance engineers (assigned to projects) in implementing the Flow Assurance program. Monitoring the progress of activities with those involved, working to ensure that they are carried out within the specified timeframe and monitoring the impact of the technical solutions chosen on the project/product. Monitoring and controlling the costs (hours) of internal employees in order to carry out the program with excellence and within budget; Carrying out Flow Assurance analyses when necessary (e.g. thermal analysis, IVF, erosion, flow simulations, etc.).
  • Support the creation and review of technical project documents, such as drawings, DBIs (database information), technical specifications, reports, ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) etc, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reports and systems reports;
  • Developing and supporting solutions to non-recurring problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating various precedents and data. Anticipating possible problems and acting to prevent possible incidents. Consult other departments on equipment projects and issues. Identifying the origins of problems. Developing alternative solutions and communicating the benefits and risks associated with such solutions;

You are meant for this job if:

  • Degree in engineering
  • Advanced planning, organizational, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Postgraduate degree or extension course in Flow Assurance desirable;
  • Experience with commercial simulators used in Flow Assurance analyses (e.g. OLGA, PIPESIM, PVTSIM, and/or similar).  
  • Experience in Flow Assurance in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience as a technical leader in the discipline desirable. 
  • Advanced English
