Job Purpose

Executes and follows up complex and critical costing operations/coordination related to transport services (freight forwarding, vessel chartering & etc)

Manages and handles transportation & logistics related activities for various Subsea Projects within the company

Job Description

Determines the most effective mode of transportation, negotiating arrangement with freight forwarders/carriers, scheduling individual shipments, and arranging export documentation 

Plans and supervises handling operations for “special items”, multiple and complex shipping schemes 

Handles multiple lines of transport (air, sea, road) for multiple types of goods

Prepares and issues specifications, RFQ’s, Invitation to Bid, Negotiation documents, and Service Orders

Defines and assigns to Forwarding Agents and shipments out of Service Orders

Contact suppliers and coordinates pick-up operations, based on the loading/shipping plan for each shipment

Issues or coordinates the issue of import-export documentation when necessary

Issues and updates Shipping Notice to various parties involved and sends a separate set of shipping documents to the field

Functions as the subject matter expert on Australia customs and biosecurity & quarantine related matters

Provides transport cost and man-hours estimation and reports, monitors budget vs project execution

Issues shipment status report, invoicing status report and duty & tax payment report to Project Teams

Improves and/or modifies standard procedures

Contributes to the implementation of automation and digitalization of transport handling processes with the relevant IT Tools

You are meant for this job if:

Technical diploma or relevant diploma / degree.

Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience on management and coordination of transportation & logistics activities, preferably with experience in handling general cargo and over-sized cargo movements in the oil & gas and industrial projects related sectors.

Capable of performing commercial and operational related tasks.

Highly experienced in handling Australia customs clearance related matters i.e. tariff identification, tariff concession applications and etc.

Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI & Transport Management Systems.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build strong relationship with stakeholders.

Sense of initiative and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Proactive and passionate about delivering service excellence to stakeholders.
