Job Purpose

At TechnipFMC, we deliver critical projects of a scale, scope and difficulty you won't find anywhere else. We are looking for a Sub-Contracts and Local Purchasing Administrator (F/M) as part of an International Corporate Volunteering who can join our multicultural team in Maputo/Pemba in Mozambique.

As part of the Mozambique LNG project (>2 Billion), Total Energies signed a contract with TechnipFMC for the installation of an oil field including the manufacturing and installation of underwater lines and structures in Mozambique. This project covers operations in Mozambique on land and at sea planned from November 2024 until May 2027.

Job Description

Within this project, a set of services will be subcontracted, including:
• Chartering of vessels (in addition to installation vessels belonging to the TechnipFMC fleet)
• Onshore support services in Mozambique
• Local logistics services
• Offshore services such as laying rigid pipes, positioning, pre-commissioning, etc.

You will report directly to the Contract Manager and you will be integrated into a team of several people in Mozambique and Paris.
The passage of these subcontracting contracts as well as their administration from offices in France and Mozambique is managed by our Global Sourcing & Procurement (GSP) department.

The subcontract engineers integrated within this department are the main points of contact for all commercial, contractual, financial and administrative matters related to subcontracts (from the definition of the contract, to the selection of the companies consulted , from the launch of calls for tenders until their closing via administration at headquarters & locally). They are also the preferred point of contact until the subcontract is signed for technical and operational coordination with the project team.
Integrated within the team, your LIFE mission will be divided into 2 phases:
• 1st phase: Job training and integration into the project for 2/3 weeks in Paris within TechnipFMC:
- Training on customs clearance processes and port activities within the TechnipFMC logistics department on project;
- Training in the subcontracting process within the GSP department of TechnipFMC on project;
- Understanding of project data, organization, objectives and constraints.

• 2nd phase: On Site in Mozambique (Maputo and/or Pemba)
- Administration of local contracts such as local agent, equipment rental, port services, etc.
- Control of invoicing for services provided by suppliers/subcontractors;
- Relaunch and control of the progress of services in relation to contractual and commercial commitments;
- Preparation, negotiation and placing of subcontracts/orders based on local project needs;
- Inventory and development of relationships with local suppliers/subcontractors;
- Support for the project subcontract team based in Paris and locally;
- Support and interface to on-site operations teams and engineering teams in Paris;

Being at the heart of operations, you will interact with all project stakeholders.

One-off missions to Paris may be planned in order to consolidate all the information with the project team.

 

 

• Destination: Maputo and/or Pemba - Mozambique Duration: 12 months, renewable once for 12 months (24 months maximum).
• Mobilization Date: Between July 1 and September 30, 2024
• Demobilization date: 12 months after the mobilization date

You are meant for this job if:

With general engineering school or business school training, you are keen to discover the on-site implementation of a large-scale project. If possible, you have initial experience in the field of logistics, purchasing and/or subcontracting.
You want to be involved in the management of operational, contractual, financial aspects and commercial negotiation.
Rigorous and with a good team spirit, you are able to take initiatives, react appropriately to job demands and manage stress.
You demonstrate interpersonal skills, autonomy and proactivity and are able to manage problems thoughtfully and effectively. You are adaptable and evolve easily through contact with different cultures and environments. You are ready to get involved for a mission of at least 12 months on a stimulating project.
You speak English fluently. A first experience abroad will be a plus.
Fluency in the Portuguese language is a plus.
