Job Purpose

At TechnipFMC, we deliver critical projects of a scale, scope and difficulty that you simply won’t find anywhere else. We are looking for a Structure Lead Engineer (M/F) who can join our multicultural team in Paris.

 

• Coordinates, prioritizes, adjusts, and directs the efforts of the discipline engineering work performed for the project and/or manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites, including direct supervision of Subsea/Surface Engineers.

• Ensures that the discipline engineering deliverables are compliant with contract requirements (including budget), project QHSE plan and TechnipFMC and discipline engineering processes and standards.

• Approves design basis and coordinates design activities within discipline (including sub-contractors activities).

• Interfaces with other Lead Engineers and project support functions such as procurement and planning.

Job Description

  • To know how to search and recognize the main and critical parameters guiding the design in agreement or not with the project contract and to evaluate the impact of cost/planning;
  • To be able to effectively review the reports and technical analyzes of his peers and other disciplines and services with whom he/she will have exchange;
  • To collaborate with the other engineering disciplines and the other entities of the group;
  • To know how to lead meetings internally and with the client;
  • To be able to communicate in a clear and structured manner to customer requests;
  • To interface with the specialists of the disciplines and the R&D teams in technical support, requests for exemptions and to attend qualification tests;
  • To develop and regularly update the execution schedule of the activities of the discipline on his / her project;
  • To Anticipate resource needs and specific developments;
  • To ensure regular reporting to the Project Engineering Manager and the Head of Department;
  • To be creative about the ability to solve problems at a lower cost;
  • Participate in the activities of the department by adopting exemplary behavior and contribute to the supervision and training of the younger ones.

The Project manager should be able to evolve operationally on the activities upstream of the projects (Front-End Engineering), in preparation of the projects (Tendering), in project but also in after-sales service. As part of his activities, he may go to the group's manufacturing sites or to suppliers and support operations at sea on the group's boats.

You are meant for this job if:

  • BS degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent with 5 to 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Strong technical skills in engineering.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good presentation and coaching skills.
  • Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding customer requirements and ability to translate them into product specifications.
  • Office Pack and Excel in particular, along with finite element software (SACS, STAAD PRO, ABAQUS, ANSYS or equivalent) and analytical calculation tools (MATHCAD).
  • Fluent in French & English.
  • Independent, rigorous and organized, capable of  effectively managing priorities, team spirit and ability to take the lead on the projects,  interpersonal skills as well as ability for written and oral communication.
