Job Purpose

The main mission of this function is to pro-actively support the Project Manager in protecting / improving the project objectives and margins through “Anticipation” and “Derisking”.

 

The Project Risk Engineer:

Implements the risk management process including identification, mitigation, and risk reporting.

Job Description

Risk Management activities require robust interpersonal, communication (written, spoken) and analytical skills to help increase value and reduce threats.

The Risk Engineer usually interfaces with all Lead team members, bearing their individual subjectivity and produces some deliverables aggregating data in the form of a risk register, contingency file, presentation slides and reporting.

In this context: hands-on, synthesis qualities, robust experience and expert understanding of project Risk Management concepts are fundamental assets.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establishes and manages the risk organization for the project
  • Proposes and carries out the preparation and issue of all required risk procedures and ensures their due application by all parties throughout the duration of the project
  • Implementing the risk management tool and reportings
  • Implements plans within his/her scope to address project threats and opportunities
  • Provides analysis of data related to risks, forecasts, and variances to the project plan
  • Identifies risks across all the project phases through Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management, pre-start, commissioning and into operations
  • Works with risk owners to establish documentation for all controls and risk mitigation plans against risks
  • Ensures risk activities (assessments and mitigation actions) are being carried out to project standards
  • Ensures appropriate reporting within the project as well as to the client using the reporting tool
  • Tracks and reports on risk management key performance indicators and takes appropriate actions to ensure KPI’s are tracked in a positive manner

You are meant for this job if:

  • Confirmed experience (3-5 years) in Engineering & Construction Industry.
  • Knowledge on risk management.
  • Communication (written, spoken). Fluent English. 
  • Positive and constructive attitude
  • Awareness of lean execution and ability to drive positive change
  • Able to chair meetings within multi-cultural teams and Clients (if needed).
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Adaptive to change, and flexible/willing to take on new responsibilities
  • MS Office tools: Excel (Intermediate multi-sheets modeling), PowerPoint (good presentation skills), Word (notions), Optional: PowerBI (beginner).
