We are looking for a Project HSE Manager - Subsea Africa (M/F) to be hired on a permanent contract.
They will be integrated into the Subsea Africa HSE Department in Paris, reporting hierarchically to the Subsea Africa HSE Manager and operationally to the Project Director/Manager;

Job Description

The Project HSE Manager Subsea Africa is tasked with preparing and implementing the HSE management system for their projects, as outlined below :

  • Implements TechnipFMC policies and programs throughout the duration and all phases of the project.

  • Assists the Project Director/Manager in developing the HSE leadership of the project management team.

  • Prepares the deployment plan for the Pulse program (group safety culture program) on the project, in connection with the HSE department manager.

  • Has a clear understanding of the regulatory requirements applicable to the projects in all its locations and ensures that the necessary means are defined and implemented for compliance with these regulations.

  • Ensures that HSE procedures and plans for the project are in place, in accordance with client requirements, TechnipFMC requirements, and that they are applied to all personnel and subcontractors.

  • Prepares the project's HSE strategy and assists their hierarchy in defining TechnipFMC's accountability in case of HSE incidents on the project.

  • Defines the necessary HSE resources for project execution.

  • Supports the project's work market manager in qualifying subcontractors.

  • Develops and applies an action plan when necessary to align subcontractor HSE practices with TechnipFMC requirements.

  • Has comprehensive knowledge of the project's HSE risks associated with manufacturing, construction, and offshore operations.

  • Establishes and leads the risk management process and action plan monitoring.

  • Sets up systems for measuring the project's HSE performance: proactive and reactive indicators in accordance with TechnipFMC and client requirements.

  • Provides monthly reporting to the client, Project Director, and Subsea Africa HSE department manager.

  • In an execution scheme with potential partners, and under the terms of Joint-Venture and Consortium agreements, acts as an operational leader to ensure that industry best practices are deployed for the project.

  • Participates or leads investigations of high potential classified accidents (SIF), according to references issued by Subsea Africa or the Group.

  • Conducts audits and inspections within their scope of responsibility.

  • Manages and develops teams of engineers for which they may have operational responsibility

About You:

  • Master's degree with a specialization in Health, Safety, and Environment
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE on projects, preferably Subsea
  • Mobile for short missions abroad
  • Familiar with HSE specifics related to offshore construction operations would be a plus
  • Demonstrates an operational approach to HSE
  • Offshore work experience would be a plus
  • Certified auditor would be a plus
  • Mastery of TOPSET specifics (incident investigation) would be a plus
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of leading and defending TechnipFMC's HSE requirements throughout the projects
  • Able to work in a demanding and mobile environment (occasional site visits in Africa to be expected)
  • Able to coordinate teams in a multicultural context
  • Proficient in English
  • Experience in implementing best HSE practices, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Knowledge of INTELEX software would be a plus
  • BOSIET/HUET would be a plus
