Job Purpose

The SURF (Subsea Umbilical Risers & Flowlines) portfolio covers TechnipFMC’s Rigid Pipe, Flexible Pipe and Umbilical Products, along with the recently developed Composite Pipe. SURF links to our installation fleet, factories and spool-bases, along with all other product portfolios.

The Manager, Product Strategy & Marketing - SURF is responsible for developing business strategies, positioning, messaging, pricing and external marketing tactics, competitive differentiation for a portfolio of products.

The role owns the understanding of the market needs and customer requirements, considering all steps of the product lifecycle and offering performance.

Job Description

The Manager, Product Strategy & Marketing - SURF is responsible for:

· Analysis of competitive intelligence, market information and segmentation to understand our customers’ needs and define product strategies.

· Definition and implementation of business strategy for specific new and existing products/services, providing the business case and commercial readiness level support as a part of New Product Development (NPD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Transformative Industrialization Programs (TIP).

· Leading the Critical Decision Point (CDP) process for specific technologies managing all stakeholders.

· Partnering with Marketing and Communication (MarComm) to develop Messaging and Communication Blueprints.

· Creating and coordinating the roadmap and business cases for products.

· Interaction with sales and business development teams and directly with customers to ensure a clear understanding of client needs and current perception of product performance.

· Identify potential external technology opportunities to improve product portfolio offering

· Support annual Subsea NPD/PLM budget process.

· Support Commercial team in managing client relations and industry events – specific focus on technology and products/offerings.

· Management of the customer relationship with internal stakeholders, including front end, business development, project teams, GEC’s, CoEs and other R&D teams.

· Ad-hoc product and strategy support to Senior Leadership Management. · Role will include assignments also for other Product Marketing & Strategy portfolios beyond SURF to gain exposure to other business segments / areas.

You are meant for this job if:

Essential:

· Bachelor or advanced degree in business, engineering or related field

· Strategy, Market, Segmentation analysis experience

· 8+ years of experience in oil and gas industry, ideally SURF related

· Speak, present, and write professional English

· Creative thinker and a good listener

· Knows how to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

· Strong communicator with ability to articulate complex topics in a pedagogic and synthetic manner

· Team oriented, but also independent contributor

· Adept at building relationships and networks with internal stakeholders and clients

· Entrepreneurial spirit and business mindset

· Ability to run multitasking, especially when faced with critical deadlines

· Understanding of subsea equipment and installation techniques, along with contracting models and principles

· Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI.

· Extensive knowledge of SURF systems, particularly but not limited to rigid pipelines, resulting in ability to challenge technical process and assumptions required.

 

Desirable

 

· MBA preferable

· Knowledge of SPS systems

· Experience of managing external contractors and contracts

· Operational experience in live subsea (SURF or SPS) systems, including IRM operations
