Job Purpose

At TechnipFMC, we deliver critical projects of a scale, scope and difficulty that you simply won’t find anywhere else. We are looking for a Flexible Pipeline Lead Engineer (M/F) who can join our multicultural team in Paris.

The Lead Flexible Pipe Engineer is the representative of the Flexible Pipe Department within the project team and is therefore responsible to lead the execution of large projects such as iEPCI contract by integrating the requirements of the client and the project.

Job Description

Technically, he/she will be responsible for creating complete flexible solutions based on flexible pipeline cross-section design, in-place analysis (static and dynamic), equipment design relating to pipeline as well as the follow-up of their procurement cycles. These activities must respect the highest standards of safety and quality in order to ensure the satisfaction of the group's customers.

 

Regarding management, he/ she will be responsible for the budgeted hours, planning the issuance of internal and client deliverables, interfaces on his/her perimeter (R&D, manufacturing plant and other project disciplines) and lead the team on site or remotely within the group.

 

Main activities include:

  • To find and identify the critical and main parameters that drive the design in accordance or not with the project contract and then to evaluate the cost/planning impact;
  • To be able to effectively review the technical reports and analyses of its peers and other disciplines with whom he/she will interact;
  • To collaborate with other engineering disciplines and entities of the group;
  • To manage and lead meetings organized internally and with our clients;
  • To communicate in clear and structured manner the requests of the clients;
  • To communicate with disciplines specialists and R&D teams in technical support, derogation requests and attend qualification tests;
  • Elaborate and regularly update the execution planning of activities related to the specific domain in his/her project;
  • Anticipate the needs of resources and specific developments;
  • Ensure to provide report on a regular basis to the Project Engineering Manager and to the Department Manager;
  • Be creative to identify or find ways to resolve problems at a lower cost;
  • To show exemplary behavior while carrying out departmental activities and contribute in the supervision and training of the juniors.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Engineering degree with a specialization in mechanical or hydrodynamic engineering;
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in the subsea pipeline design;
  • Fluent in French and English;
  • Familiar with the Office Pack and Excel (good notions of VBA or Python programming is a plus);
  • Autonomous and organized, you demonstrate leadership and real decision-making abilities. You know how to manage priorities, move easily as part of a team and have good communication skills (written and oral);
  • Continuously raise standards, Innovative, Solution-oriented, Help us solve complex problems;
  • The position is based in Paris, but you may need to make occasional trips abroad;
  • Open-minded, open to Travel, Speak professional English, Be adaptable and work in multicultural environment;
