Job Purpose
• The DPO acts as a Navigational Officer and DP Operator. The duties of these Officers will be distributed by the Vessel Master and they will work closely with other Officers to allow for general ship running and routine.
Job Description
• Work in EPCI Project
• Assistance in the maintenance for items such as firefighting equipment, lifeboats and various other emergency systems
• Assisting in the maintenance of all lifesaving and firefighting appliances / apparatus
• Assisting in maintenance of all navigational equipment. Preparation of the bridge for sea as required by statute and reporting equipment defects
• Assist the Navigation Officer in chart work, passage planning etc. Ensuring all navigational charts and publications are corrected up to date and navigational warnings displayed
• Assists the Health Safety and Environment (HSE).
• Assists Safety Officer in his duties, ensuring updating of displayed safety posters, distribution of safety information, and assist in Safety Committee matters as Safety Secretary, if required
• Assist Chief Officer with the maintenance and renewal of equipment
• Required to assist with any shipboard duties assigned by Vessel Master
You are meant for this job if:
- Graduate at ASON, EFOMM or ATNO
- Knowledge about PLSV operation (DP2 or DP3)
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION
- CIR – 2ON (Segundo Oficial de Náutica)
- Certificate of Competency (COC) - II/1 – IV/2
- Certificate of Competency Full DP Operator’s certificate issued by the Nautical Institute
