Job Purpose

Hiring a Quality Manger for Odessa, TX that will manage all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) matters in the Permian area (mainly Odessa). This does not exclude any future facility based in the same basin.

Job Description

Promote a positive quality culture proactively developing working relationships collaborating, interacting, and influencing colleagues through day-to-day guidance on quality related matters. 

  • Monitor compliance within Odessa Supercenter, to global, local, regulatory standards and customer requirements. 
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and support to the QA and QC teams (when available) collectively and individually, and monitor the QA & QC performances of the specific site. 
  • Creation/Management of the QMS in site. Foster API Q2 requirements and help in implementation.
  • Support other norms like API Q1, API 6A/17D and/or ISO 9001 for the PPS product line when required.
  • Promote continual improvement that result in improved safety, quality, cost, utilizing appropriate tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, VSMs, etc…
  • Act as Management representative in case of an external/internal audit/certification is required.
  • Co-ordinate the Risk Management Process, lead assessments for the quality function and support/ facilitate the local management team to conduct regular assessment sessions with the designated departments and projects.
  • Support the local management team with regards to Management of Change (MOC) process, general facilitation, and guidance, and responsible for quality department MOC’s.
  • Support the Commercial Team review to ITT’s and contracts including development of Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and Service Plans (for the service side only. Products exempt). Liaise with customers and vendors in the development and execution of Service Quality Plans. Facilitate local Management Review, Internal, Supplier and Field Service Non-Conformance (FNCR) investigation and follow up of CAPA’s.
  • Assist/support other Quality Managers, during crisis within Surface West. (Specially within the NAM geomarket).
  • Liaison with the FNCR Coordinator to follow up outstanding FNCRs in Odessa.
  • Liaison with the QN Coordinator, when available 

You are meant for this job if:

  • Quality qualification/knowledge
  • Bachelors or master’s in quality or an Engineering topic (desirable)
  • Demonstrable work experience can objectively substitute for lack of formal qualification and competency. 
  • Demonstrable work experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, API Q2, industry standards (API 6A-17D, ANSI, NACE)
  • Quality Auditing experience · Management or supervisory experience in either/both QA and QC
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, repair, refurbishment of wellhead and associated equipment (desirable).
  • Continuous Improvement. LEAN, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Synchronous Manufacturing, VSM, 5S, etc
