Job Purpose

Hiring Night Shop Manager for Odessa, TX!

Job Description

  • Manage all operational activities within the shop with full P&L responsibility, to include flowline inspection and repair, frac rental equipment redress, wellhead equipment assembly and repair, and other in-shop service operations in support of external customer and internal services. 
  • Prioritize activities and allocate resources across the shop to ensure quality, error-free products and services to customers while meeting safety, operational and financial goals. 
  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of products and services to both internal and external customers.  
  • Responsible for developing staff, recognizing high-potential employees, and optimizing workforce shifts to provide appropriate, cost effective coverage for all required services.
  • Responsible for scheduling, approving time and participating in investigations as needed
  • Partners with the sales organization in the sales, service and distribution efforts of the base
  • Tracks Technical Workshop Personnel utilization and works to minimize nonproductive time.
  • Reviews and approves invoices and purchase orders as needed, as well as purchasing of supplies and equipment.
  • Partners with Inventory and Logistics Team to ensure that relevant inventory levels are proactively maintained to fill customer demands
  • Trains, monitors and coaches team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost-effective manner. 
  • Complete internal audits, training and competency assessments on staff.
  • Responsible for scheduling, approving time and participating in investigations as needed.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3 plus years supervisory and industry experience or high school degree/equivalent and 5 years supervisory and industry experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a shop environment with technical work activities.
  • High school education or equivalent. 
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and possibly relocate.
  • Good written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must be effective in building relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, judgment and resourcefulness with the ability to find creative solutions to multi-faceted and/or time sensitive problems.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with numerous and changing priorities and to proactively address issues relating to personnel, capital, facilities, processes and profitability of base.
  • Must be effective in building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • PC skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to optimize the use of technology and systems to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Must have functional understanding of performance metrics and financial reports.
  • Must be customer focused with a strong commitment to Customer Success.
  • Understands operational commitments and impact on related area.
