Job Purpose
The Facilities Technician is responsible for carrying out site-based preventive and breakdown maintenance, ensuring the facility remains in an operational, safe, and compliant state. The Facilities Technician will work with 3rd party vendors to carry out maintenance works in a safe, high quality, prompt, and cost-effective manner.
Job Description
• Responsible for carrying out building maintenance tasks which may include but not limited to mechanical/ electrical/plumbing repairs, fire and security monitoring systems.
• Responsible for communicating with maintenance vendors ranging from Cleaning to scheduled/recurring maintenance and ad hoc repairs of both the building and associated infrastructure (Cranes, Racks, etc.)
• Diagnose / attend to breakdowns and perform ad hoc repairs within competency and legal limitations.
• Contributing to the defining Scopes of Work where outsourcing is required.
• Identify and communicate facility improvement opportunities that will facilitate Safety or efficiency gains.
• Maintain and supervise facility vendors to ensure consistency and completeness of procured services.
• Responsible for execution of facilities maintenance programs and procedures.
• Responsible for Identifying opportunities and implementing new preventative maintenance programs to ensure building/facilities meet all local safety and building codes.
• Understand Local building laws, and where to find where they are located.
• Responsible for carrying out routine maintenance/cleanliness inspections.
• Creation of Purchase requisitions where outsourcing is required. Any other duties as reasonably directed by the APAC Facilities Manager
You are meant for this job if:
- A Relevant trade certification is desired. i.e Plumber/ Carpenter / Mechanical Fitter/ Electrician
- Forklift and elevated work platform certification/experience desired.
- Secondary school /High school diploma
- Minimum of 6 months of practical experience
- Training/ Certification for electrical work or other, if applicable
- Understanding of HVAC and/or Security monitoring Systems desired
- Keen eye for safety and mitigating risks to self and co-workers
- Proven ability to comprehend technical drawings and building plans
- Computer literacy
- Industry experience, preferably in a building or Commercial property maintenance environment is beneficial.
- Experience working in a trades position highly desired (Mechanical fitter, Plumber, Carpenter etc)
