Job Purpose

  • Supports daily needs of manufacturing as an engineering resource.
  • Creates, Reviews and updates routings and manufacturing documentation, assists QN (Quality Notification) resolution, participates in Root Cause Analysis, develops Standard Work Instructions, defines and implements process improvements and improves tooling/fixturing as required.
  • Ability to train others in the application of manufacturing/engineering practices as related, gaining a mastery of a single area or multiple broader areas of specialty, product and systems.
  • Ability to anticipate internal and external business challenges with impact on the organization, recommends best practice solutions.
  • Assists in translating customer requirements into a viable and competitive manufacturing solution. Be able to assess technical risk and construct mitigation plans.
  • Acts as a quality improvement lead. Help and coach process owners to improve their skills. Functions as SME in the application of design principles as they relate to the assembly, testing and manufacturability of our products.
  • Works closely with Design Engineering, Quotations and Projects in the review of work scope for product offerings.
  • Acts as the approving manufacturing entity for all drawings, work instruction and products. Subject Matter Expert in assembly and testing for oil&gas industry.

Job Description

1. Standardizes processes for manufacturing core products and redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.
2. Develops routings and manufacturing documentation, designs tooling and equipment.
3. Supports machining operations with expendables ordering and invoicing.
4. Update area metrics to identify areas for improvement.
5. Reviews routings, DCP procedures and materials and shop tool lists prior to release for manufacturing approval.
6. Creation of manufacturing documentation for use in production areas.
7. Coordinates with area supervisor for on boarding of new personnel within manufacturing.
8. Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work.
9. May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands.
10. Leads and facilitates continuous improvement thru; SIFP, QIPPs, and Lean initiatives.
11. Standardizes processes for manufacturing core products and redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.
12. Identifies and requests tooling, gauges and fixtures to support the manufacturing or products. Provides manufacturing support as needed.
13. Understanding of customer requirements and ability to identify deviations as they occur.
14. Ability to train others as related to and area of specialty.
15. Provides support to manufacturing personnel and teams in a concurrent engineering environment.
16. Identifies and procures tooling, gauges and fixtures to support the manufacturing of products.
17. Provides manufacturing support in the identification, procurement and management of shop tools for production.
18. Provides technical support to Project and Business Teams and performs manufacturing engineering activities in a concurrent engineering environment.Performs special projects to support business objectives as required.
19. To adhere company HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policy, rules & regulations.
20. To integrate HSE as part of the job function.
21. Perform Gap Analysis of relevant machining industries standard or TechnipFMC machining specification meet process.
22. Perform the readiness task as per Manufacturing readiness level (MRL).

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7 plus years of relevant experience in specialized area or product line(s).
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing processes (strong working knowledge of assembly, pressure system and schematic) qualifications and related.
  • Detailed subsea 2.0 product knowledge of at least one TFMC or related product line and general knowledge of several lines.
  • Good knowledge of systems and application. Good knowledge of competing and alternative technologies.
  • Ability to read, understand and create manufacturing drawings. Must be proficient in use of CAD, schematics and TCE Database systems related to Engineering functions. Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills.
  • High level of experience in reading and understanding the consequence of tolerance setting both GD&T, ASME & GPS- ISO.
  • Experience in oilfield equipment and knowledge in ASTM, ASME IX, API and NACE standards will be distinctly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently create and implement functional and cost-effective processes that meet complex specification requirements. 
  • General understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas. Maintain the company assets and manage the CAPEX execution.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups when required. Ability to communicate in a constructive and professional manner and give feedback to engineers in a structured manner.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and proactive. Eager to learn more and share new and common knowledge within assigned field of work. Ability to coach and train others in the field of DFx.
  • Excellent presentations skills and Problem-Solving capability. Skilled in Design for manufacturing and assembly. Capable of relating engineering solutions to cost and schedule impact. Take a leading role in and contribute with alternative design ideas/solutions in product design, focused on product simplification to ensure products are manufacturing friendly, cost optimized and repeatable.
