Job Purpose

Involves in the supervision, leading and coordination of activities within the machine and clad shop environment to ensure that production and performance commitment are fulfilled. Trains, monitors and coaches team members to improve skill level, to ensure the team adheres to manufacturing policies and standards. Oversees the machine and clad shop responsibility for safety, quality, delivery and cost aspects. Promotes and practices on LEAN Manufacturing through implementation of Kaizen/Continuous Improvement activities.

Job Description

Assist Production manager to plan, direct and co-ordinate manufacturing activities to achieve On-Time delivery in a cost-effective manner while maintaining consistent standard of quality.

Conduct monitoring and control in the shop floor to ensure operators comply to manufacturing procedures.

Familiarize and fully understand technical specification and relevant standards.

Clarify and/or resolve any discrepancy with relevant parties.

Responsible for inventory/transaction accuracy and adherence to department budget. Develops justification for headcount.

Perform periodical reviews and provide inputs for procedure and/or process improvements, coordinate all aspect to the latest production technique, consumables controls, manufacturing parameters and requirements.

Establishes employees’ objectives, coordinate and implement training internally and/or externally and carry out Reward and Disciplinary Action as required.

Drives the team to meet manufacturing objectives in SQDC through LEAN and stabilized processes.

You are meant for this job if:

Minimum Diploma in related field.

5-7 years shop or engineering experience with experience of CNC Machining environment.

Additional experience in Cladding (Auto Weld) will be an added advantage.

At least 2 years supervisory experience with good understanding of Employment Act or Labor Law.

Capable of handling employee related issues.

Understanding management of Lifting Operation and Overhead Crane usage.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Flow, 5S, Visual Management and Problem-Solving Skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skill.

Strong PC skill in Microsoft office required

SAP experience preferred.
