Job Purpose

The Nîmes site is a centre of excellence for the group. Our engineers work on a variety of subjects, including subsea lines (dynamic and static) and renewable energies, with know-how including hydrodynamics, fluid dynamics, mechanics and coding. In a small sized company atmosphere, our experts provide technical support to the different global sites for their complex projects. They also carry out R&D for the group, developing knowledge, design processes and internal tools.

We are looking for a "Subsea Engineer" to carry out the dimensioning and dynamic analysis of subsea riser & pipeline systems. You preferably have a mechanical and/or hydrodynamic engineering background. Technical knowledge of commercial Finite Element Analysis software (e.g. Abaqus) is required. Knowledge of dynamic analysis tools is a plus (e.g. Orcaflex, Deeplines, etc.). You have a solid basis in coding to create routines to implement specific internal methods (e.g. in Python). 

Job Description

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

·       Review and analyse project specifications, client design proposals and other data to assess the feasibility, suitability and constraints of project designs or applications;

·       Ensure mastery and development of discipline design tools, based on state-of-the-art engineering methodology and relevant codes and standards;

·       Perform the necessary studies to develop and design equipment / procedures according to the project objectives, with due regard to the applicable codes and standards;

·       Ensure the preparation of project deliverables; create and present reports/deliverables detailing results, product features and conclusions drawn from engineering studies.

·       Report to his/her manager on the progress and on the expected completion of the deliverables. 

As a Subsea Engineer, you will report to the Lead Engineer in charge of the project package in Nîmes and to the General Manager of the company. You will work mainly in our Nîmes office, with occasional travel abroad for project meetings and/or seminars. Teleworking is possible according to the agreement in force in the company, with compulsory presence in the offices at least three days a week.
