Project Manufacturing Engineer

Job Purpose
Supporting the Project Manufacturing Manager in supplying materials, hardware, documentation and support services for the manufacturing facility for the production and termination of the Umbilicals sub-system. In line with RFLU & RFT key performance indicator targets, thus ensuring OTD is met.
To lead the Project Engineering of allocated projects and provide project management support to the Project Manufacturing Manager in all project administrative activities.
To provide operational feedback into the PMA Department to enable the Engineering Manager to make informed decisions regarding design changes and improvements. In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Job Description
- Lead the Project engineering including the review and interpretation of ICPO requirements, preparation/co-ordination of project documentation (specifications, drawings, design calculations, design reports, procedures, work packages) and obtain Client approval as contractually required.
- Responsible for Interface Management with the BU and other Group Entities involved with the scope of work. Including coordinating internal meetings/reviews as required to meet project specific objectives.
- Supporting the Project Manufacturing Manager in supplying materials, hardware, documentation and support services for the manufacturing facility for the production and termination of the Umbilicals sub-system.
- Active participation in the Lean Transformation Journey and adoption of the Plants Management Systems for Performance & Improvement (Obeya). Maintenance of the Obeya Boards and tracking of Project Engineering progress and problems.
- Risk Management following the Plants risk management procedures and administration of the group RM tool, RMA.
- Commercial management including identifying budget overruns, identifying scope changes and raising to the PMM and supporting import/export requirements.
- Assist in the review of ICPO requirements, clarification and resolution of ambiguities and dissemination of company obligations and scope of work to the manufacturing plant and functional departments.
- Assist in progress planning and reporting as required by Technip FMC Umbilicals Ltd Operating Manual. Communication of potential/actual constraints to progress; accurate recording of Client caused delay; general concerns regarding QHS&E issues, engineering or other operational issues.
- Contribution and participation in the improvement, development and implementation of company quality and management procedures.
- Identify, participate, monitor and co-ordinate activities, equipment and materials associated with Health, Safety and Environmental considerations within the areas of the job holder’s responsibility.
- Liaise with BU regarding offsite or offshore services activities. Communication of requirements to affected Technip FMC Umbilicals Ltd Departments.
You are meant for this job if:
- Degree qualified, preferably Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
- The position calls for a broad theoretical and practical knowledge relating to varied aspects of mechanical design and manufacture.
- Experience of electric cable design, hydraulics, pipelines, umbilicals, flexible flowlines, structural engineering would be very advantageous.
- Offshore oil and gas contracting experience would also be useful but not essential.
- Experience of computerised systems, including mathematical/spreadsheet software is necessary (Microsoft Office Word & Excel)
- Technical product knowledge is preferred (knowledge of electric cables, fibre optics, steel pipelines or hydraulic hoses would be acceptable)
