Our Graduate Programme
As a Graduate Engineer at TechnipFMC, you will:
• Be part of a two-year structured training programme spent within a rotational framework that allows you to gain exposure to many areas of our business and take on real responsibility.
• Join an accredited development scheme giving you a route to professional registration.
• Be primarily located at our R&D facility in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with opportunities for placements across the UK and offshore.
• Build on both technical and behavioural skills to enable you to progress your career alongside our experienced mentors.
• Begin your programme in September 2025.
The Newcastle-upon-Tyne based Graduate Engineering roles offer great opportunities for talented individuals to expand their experience on challenging and exciting projects.
Graduate Engineer
Our graduate engineer programme is a two-year training programme which will be spent within a rotational framework that allows you to gain exposure to many areas of our business. Some of those areas include new technology development, product maintenance, testing and qualification of umbilical and cable materials, components, structures and hardware, with opportunities for additional site or offshore placements. You will primarily be located at our R&D facility in Newcastle-upon-Tyne site with opportunities for placements across the UK.
The programme is part of an Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) accredited MPDS scheme which means you will be in a scheme recognised by industry leaders, ensuring you are achieving all the competencies required to achieve professional registration with the IMechE after 4 years. You will be assigned a dedicated mentor throughout your journey to registration, to assist you on building your professional competencies.

This location is the traditional home of TechnipFMC Umbilicals – a world leader in subsea umbilical solutions and a leading manufacturer of umbilicals. We develop, engineer and manufacture customised subsea umbilical systems, which you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to. Our fast paced and demanding program suits ambitious individuals and at the end of your 2-year rotations you will be a qualified umbilicals engineer.

- Selected candidates will then be invited to attend our full day in-person assessment centre which will include group exercises, lunch, company presentations, individual interviews and a site tour.
