Job Purpose

The day-to-day management & supervision of the Process Leads and Shift Application Engineers, ensuring that the requirements of the Applications Manager, with respect to production output, personnel safety, test equipment maintenance and general housekeeping are maintained.

Job Description

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in relation to the product to the latest Technical Instructions and specifications.
  • Responsible for individual and team safety under his / her authority. Incorporate Duty of care into every activity and promote throughout the department to ensure all Process 
  • Be instrumental in contacting the necessary personnel or services in the event of an accident or an emergency (On & Offshore)
  • Responsible for any and all qualitative measures to ensure product conformance.
  • Ensure that all staff are fully conversant and trained in the use of hardware assembly and test equipment.
  • Liaise with clients, client inspectors, project teams and all other departments within the business to ensure all targets and objectives with respect to the project are met 
  • Liaise with the Applications Manager with regards to day-to-day staffing requirements & allocate labour within the department on a shift basis.
  • Responsible for identifying and delivering the necessary training to individuals within the department and assisting in the team’s personal and collective development.
  • Willing to embrace and encourage change both collectively and personal.
  • Be instrumental in accepting and introducing Lean Processes into the business
  • Responsible for his / her development within the organisation. Review training with support Managers.
  • Measure performance of the department daily in line with plan durations. 
  • Deputise for the Applications Manager in the case of absence.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Proven record of Leadership / Supervisory experience. 
  • Knowledge of HSE systems 
  • Minimum O.N.C. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Conversant with all manufacturing & testing operations
  • Several years of hands on product knowledge 
  • Experience of computerized systems
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience of Quality Systems 
  • Offshore/Offsite environmental working (hands on)
  • Offshore survival training
  • Forklift Licence advantageous
  • Conversant with all aspects of the 5S / IFS System
