Job Purpose

The Senior Specialist, Project Controls plays a critical role in supporting project delivery by providing planning, scheduling, cost control, performance measurement, risk management, and reporting expertise. This position partners closely with Project Managers, Finance, Contract Management, Engineering, Procurement, and other project stakeholders to ensure project performance is accurately monitored, analyzed, and communicated. The role is responsible for driving visibility into project status, supporting informed decision-making, and helping projects achieve their commercial and operational objectives.

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project performance baselines.
  • Monitor project progress, analyze performance trends, and identify deviations from approved plans.
  • Prepare and distribute project controls reports covering schedule, cost, progress, risk, and forecast information.
  • Support project forecasting activities, including revenue, cash flow, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate project controls inputs for finance, contract management, and risk management activities.
  • Facilitate earned value analysis and performance measurement reporting.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and support the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Maintain project controls systems, dashboards, reporting tools, and project coding structures.
  • Support internal and external project reviews by providing analysis, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project controls processes, systems, and reporting

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5 to 8 years of project controls, project management, cost control, planning, scheduling, or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls methodologies, including earned value management and performance measurement.
  • Experience with project scheduling software, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and project reporting tools.
  • Understanding of cost control, forecasting, change management, and risk management processes.
  • Ability to analyze project data and communicate trends, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of project contracting, commercial management, and project execution practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic project environment.
  • Detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
