Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental operations across multiple project sites in Mozambique. This rotational role requires a dynamic leader capable of managing a team of HSE Officers and ensuring compliance with local and international HSE standards. .
Job Description
- Lead and supervise a team of HSE Officers across multiple operational sites.
- Forcasts, plans and schedules work of the HSE team on site in Pemba and Afungi
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with Client, Company and Mozambican regulations and international HSE standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Reviews and arranges for the provision of site safety equipment and training required
- Drive continuous improvement in safety culture and performance.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide HSE training and awareness programs for site personnel.
- Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Implements and supervises the site drug and employment physical programs
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.
You are meant for this job if:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience working in remote or international locations, preferably in Africa.
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Proven ability to manage teams and multiple site operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English required; Portuguese is a strong asset.
