Job Purpose

The Senior Installation Engineer, Controls is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership for complex Controls activities within Subsea Production Systems (SPS), supporting installation engineering, operational readiness, integration testing, commissioning, intervention, and offshore operations. The role requires autonomy, sound technical judgment, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution

Job Description

  • Support the supervision, mentoring, and development of Junior and Intermediate Engineers.
  • Participate in management meetings and technical discussions, representing Installation Engineering and Operations interests with internal and external customers. 
  • Act autonomously on complex technical matters under limited supervision. 
  • Support Commercial, Projects, and Systems Engineering teams with estimates of engineering hours, schedules, and resource requirements for Bids, Tenders, contractual activities, and additional service opportunities.
  • Create, review, and approve complex technical documentation, including:
    • Integration Test Procedures
    • Installation Procedures
    • Retrieval and Intervention Procedures
    • Commissioning and Decommissioning Procedures
    • Operational Manuals
    • Risk Assessments
    • Contingency Plans
    • Operational Procedures
    • Readiness Reviews (RR)
    • Debrief Reviews (DR) 
  • Develop and deliver operational training materials and technical training sessions.
  • Participate in Design Reviews, risk assessments, technical discussions, and project improvement initiatives. 
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Lead and/or support complex integration testing activities, identifying operational risks and driving issue resolution.
  • Support internal, external, and customer-facing operational activities, including offshore campaigns, port activities, manufacturing support, and field operations. 
  • Provide technical support to field operations to ensure operational continuity and project success

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • CREA
  • Advanced English
  • Experience in Controls Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience with Controls scope within Subsea Production Systems (SPS).
  • Experience supporting Commercial, Projects, and Systems Engineering teams, including engineering estimates, resource planning, schedules, bids, and tenders.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and approving technical documentation related to integration testing, installation, intervention, commissioning, decommissioning, and operational readiness activities.
  • Experience leading or supporting complex integration testing activities and operational support.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.

 

Technical Knowledge

 

  • Strong knowledge of Controls engineering within the SPS environment. 
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, contingency planning, Design Reviews, and operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with Readiness Reviews (RR) and Debrief Reviews (DR). 
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter (TCE) for technical documentation management is desirable. 
  • SAP knowledge for data consultation, service notifications, and quality processes is desirable. 
  • Lean knowledge is considered a plus.
