Job Purpose

The Officer (Second Engineer / 2nd Engineer) of the PLSVs will assume tasks assigned or directed by the Chief Engineer.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment under the responsibility of the Engine Department.
  • Must be familiar with the machinery and systems so that, in an emergency, essential services can be safely and quickly restored. Additionally, must have a full understanding of the company's procedures, policies, and instructions and comply with them. Must ensure that subordinates are properly trained.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repair work carried out in the Engine Department is adequately supervised and performed safely, without contravening applicable rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in the planned maintenance system.
  • Comply with work orders received for the proper operation, conservation, and cleaning of all engines and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning.
  • Keep maintenance control updated through the planned maintenance system.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Have completed EFOMM, ASOM, or ATOM training.
  • Certificate of Competence (COC) – III/1.
  • CIR - 2nd Engineer.
  • STCW - Fast Rescue Boats Course completed.
  • EBCP.
  • IMCA.
  • Advanced English.
  • Solid knowledge of PLSV-type vessels.
