Job Purpose

Responsible for supervising and executing activities related to the deployment of flexible/rigid pipes, maintenance, and organization of deck equipment onboard the fleet’s PLSV vessels, according to the instructions of the Group Leader and following TechnipFMC’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.

Job Description

  • Ensure that all activities related to deck operations—deployment of flexibles, cargo handling, working at heights, use of hand tools, etc.—are carried out in accordance with standard and executive procedures, as well as the company’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures;
  • Act according to the instructions of the Offshore Construction Manager (OCM)/Lay Engineer/Group Leader (Deck Leader) during operations;
  • Maintain clear and objective communication with colleagues and supervisors, and ensure that your direct supervisors (Engineering and Deck Leader) are updated on the deck status at all times;
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of deck equipment and tools, as well as the organization of the deck, contributing to a safe and organized work environment;
  • Ensure that clear and objective instructions are given to the Crane Operator during cargo handling operations on the deck area;
  • Inform the deck team about the scope of work to be performed—as per the Deck Leader’s instructions—and ensure they are aware of any safety precautions to be observed. This includes conducting safety talks when necessary;
  • Demonstrate adaptability to work harmoniously as part of a team in various scenarios and activities, committing to initiatives aimed at increasing synergy, performance, and contributing to a positive onboard environment;
  • Participate in the training and development of the deck team and new hires.

You are meant for this job if:

  • High school diploma completed;
  • Experience in rigid pipe deployment;
  • Advanced English required.
