We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel!
For our Legal Counsel in Norway, we are looking for someone to act as a centre of excellence for general legal operations support, including the management of local litigation/arbitration; local outside counsel; local legal strategy and local corporate and employment support, real estate and local crisis management representation.
Job Description
Position Duties:
• Provide daily advice and counsel on legal operations matters
• Manage, translate and implement legal policies and standards
• Provide local legal and regulatory expert services to operations and functions
• Interact and consult with relevant Legal GBU(s)/REMS as the centre of excellence for local law
• Manage dispute resolution at the local level, including litigation and arbitration and major disputes in collaboration with the Regional Legal Manager for Northern Europe & Middle East.
• Implement local Legal strategies for operations and establishments
• Manage the relationships with outside counsels in relevant countries in collaboration with Regional Legal Manager for Northern Europe & Middle East, People & Culture and other functions. Control, monitor and report legal matters and outside legal spend in Legal Tracker
• Provide legal “landlording” services, including legal support to facilities, real estate etc. and ensure freedom to operate through compliance with local legislation, local content and licenses
• Support People & Culture on all labor and employment related matters
• Legal representative for HSE incidents and crisis management
• Coordinates Legal representation in regulatory and legal forums and trade associations
• Supports the implementation of compliance policies, procedures and compliance activities
Reporting Responsibility:
• Reporting to Regional Legal Manager for Northern Europe and Middle East
You are meant for this job if:
Position Requirements:
• Norwegian Qualified Lawyer
• 5-8 years of work experience in Legal
• Native Norwegian speaker and Fluent in verbal and written English
• Understanding inter-disciplinary relations and requirements
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Negotiations skills and experience
• High level of integrity and ethics
• Ability to work independently under general guidance and or with self-initiative
• Demonstrates effective management knowledge, leadership, and motivation in a dynamic business environment and can operate and perform within a matrix organization
• Demonstrates exceptional planning, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• PC skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, project, and presentation software
