Job Purpose

For our Subsea business we seek a highly motivated buyer for the Norway Project Procurement team, you will be part of an energetic and multi-cultural workforce which is recognized for its commercial results.

You will be working in a subsea project, together with a lead purchaser as a mentor. As part of Subsea projects, a significant responsibility will also be to ensure all equipment and services needed are in place in due time for offshore installation projects. You will have high focus in the project and get to work on important and complex packages. You will need to manage the packages internally and externally to deliver the goods and services in time, with good quality, within project budget. This is a role where you will be close to the action, you will be able to make an impact on project finances and you will feel the heat of project execution.

    

Reporting lines and interactions:

Functionally reports to: Procurement Manager, Norway Projects

Operationally reports to: Project Manager

Key interactions (internally): Project Manager, Procurement Manager, Category buyers, Engineering, Cost Control, Logistics. Key interactions (externally): Subcontractors / Suppliers, project Client.

Job Description

  • Take part in and then lead inquiries, bid clarification process, tender evaluation and selection of subcontractors
  • Explorine and understanding project cost drivers, and ability to explain and give advice for decision making
  • Source and pre-qualify new suppliers for new types on project needs in accordance with Supplier Quality policy
  • Negotiation and follow-up of the procurement activities with the subcontractors
  • Writing subcontracts and be on top of the technical, commercial and contractual scope
  • Subcontract administration, including reporting, invoice management, schedule- scope and cost change management, certificate handling and close-out formalization
  • Keeping POs updated at all times in ERP-system
  • Ensuring that all goods and services required are in place for vessel offshore operations

You are meant for this job if:

  • Higher education in one of the following fields: engineering, contracts, procurement, logistics or economics.
  • Enthusiasm and a drive to explore advanced Supply Chain activities and guts to operate and deliver on your own, support will of course be given when needed
  • Good verbal and written English
  • Ability to cope with stress and high workload
  • Flexibility
  • Commercial mindset, like to negotiate and always seek the lean, optimal solution
  • Self-driven, good at analyzing a task, and planning required sub-tasks
  • Ability to take initiative and at execute in accordance with plan
  • Excellent communication and team player skill
