Controls Software Engineer

We are looking for a motivated engineering professional with passion to controls hardware and software to join our Controls & Automation Department in Krakow Engineering Center. As a Controls Software Engineer, you will be cooperating closely with multiple teams spread across the globe and working on controls systems for our subsea control platforms.

The main function of this role will be to configure new and reconfigure existing Oil & Gas extraction control systems.

  • Configuration of TechnipFMC Subsea Control System (UCOS)
     
  • Handling engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, Flow schematics, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics, SIL requirements and SIL documentation
  • Responsible for the specified products as defined for the project.
  • Control unit configurations as defined for the project.
  • Ensure that products are in compliance with applicable standards, Contract documents, HSEQ requirements and TechnipFMC specifications.
  • Achieve product quality, functionality and design life as required.
  • Be pro‐active for standardization and improvements on products, procedures and routines.
  • Be involved in technical support during EFAT and site tests
  • Cooperation with test engineers, SW engineers, Product and system owners

Required skills

Required skills

  • Experience with UCOS
  • Read and comprehend control system schematics and P&IDs
  • Experience with industrial networks and protocols like Modbus, OPC, Profinet, HART, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for drawing and editing schematics
  • Knowledge of the different control system architectures, such as PLC, DCS and SCADA
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex issues involving multiple interrelated systems using various tools (error logging and analysis tools)
  • Experience using applicable industry codes and standards, e.g. from IEC, ISO and API.
  • Capable of seeing through the functional requirement and test the product as it was intended
  • Prioritize tasks and focus on the most important one 
  • Self-motivated, capable of making decisions on the spot, desirous of solving problems, and knowing when to get assistance
  • Demonstrated ability to set and exceed goals, and manage multiple deadlines
