Job Purpose

The role is responsible for leading and supporting tender, study, and pre-engineering activities within Controls & Automation. The position ensures high-quality technical delivery, supports project start-up and execution, and provides technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineering teams while maintaining compliance with standards, processes, and project requirements.

Job Description

  • Lead and perform Study, Tender, and Pre-Engineering activities
  • Act as Tender Lead Engineer and support Sub-System Engineering in technical, project, and tender matters
  • Support Lead Engineers during project start-up and handover following LOI/Contract Award
  • Prepare project-specific documentation (e.g., BOMs, interface documentation, maintenance procedures) in line with E-plan or MDL
  • Ensure delivery of all engineering deliverables in accordance with agreed plans and timelines
  • Monitor and follow up on product deliveries and alignment between Product Group and project schedules
  • Contribute to establishing E-plan or MDL based on master plans
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and project boards
  • Identify risks, VORs, and provide inputs to engineering status reports
  • Support production and suppliers during assembly and testing phases
  • Provide technical input for tender costing
  • Coach, train, and support engineers and Lead Engineers in technical execution
  • Lead technical reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety, quality, and internal processes

You are meant for this job if:

  • You have strong experience (around 10 years) in engineering within Controls Systems, including system architecture, products, and subsystem interactions
  • You have solid knowledge of tendering processes, costing, MOC, safety, and quality standards
  • You are proficient in engineering tools, ISO standards (e.g., ISO 13628-1), and Business Management Systems
  • You are capable of producing complex technical documentation and solving advanced technical problems independently
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills
  • You can manage multiple priorities and work effectively under time pressure
  • You have experience leading technical reviews, coordinating complex projects, and making informed decisions
  • You possess strong project management skills, including planning and execution of complex tasks
  • You are comfortable working independently and providing functional leadership when needed
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  • You are experienced in leading teams, coaching engineers, and collaborating with clients and suppliers
  • You can effectively participate in and lead technical discussions, negotiations, and presentations
  • You thrive in multicultural environments and communicate effectively across diverse teams
