Job Purpose

As a SDS Product Engineer, you will be part of Subsea Drilling System Value Stream and responsible for engineering tasks associated with drilling products. The SDS Product Engineer reports to the Technical Manager and provides engineering solutions for the Subsea Drilling Services business throughout the value stream. This role supports increased demand for subsea wellhead products. Within TechnipFMC Subsea Services (Subsea Drilling System Value Stream), the team develops and maintains solutions for the subsea wellhead market, addressing various technical requirements. The position requires an engineer with expertise in detailed mechanical design to work within the Subsea Drilling System team in Services One Engineering Department, which is located at the Engineering Center in Kraków. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership and responsibility for Subsea Drilling Systems New Product Development projects, managing assigned tasks and reporting progress to Project Managers and Engineering Managers.
  • Plan and present design solutions at formal internal Design Reviews as well as at customer meetings.
  • Develop and review technical documentation required by both internal and external stakeholders throughout the entire value stream, from tendering through project execution and service.
  • Deliver engineering support to internal and external customers, fostering collaboration across diverse business functions such as Project Management, Planning, Quality, Sourcing & Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing.
  • Support Lean processes and drive product development improvements through the application of Lessons Learned, Root Cause Analysis, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies within the SDS Engineering function.
  • Create, maintain, and review engineering documents including part reports, test procedures, assembly procedures, specifications, drawings, and related materials
  • The position is based on a 4‑days‑in‑office / 1‑day‑remote hybrid model

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree vs. Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Design or other related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Product Design & Development
  • Experience in Design for Excellence (Manufacturing, Assembly, Cost etc.) is an asset.
  • Focus on detailed mechanical design and demonstrated ability to apply engineering practices, design methods & calculations
  • Very good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and prepare technical designs and documentation
  • Ability to effectively operate in the project team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English, orally and through written documentation
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Experience in PLM Software (ie. Teamcenter, SAP) would be a plus
