Job Purpose
At TechnipFMC we are now recruiting for a Non-Metallic Materials Principal Engineer in Krakow, Aberdeen and Dunfermline to support technically the New Product Development and Product Life Maintenance activities linked to TechnipFMC products lines, including Rigid Pipeline systems.
The CoE Non-Metallic Materials Principal Engineer shall provide technical inputs on topics related to rigid pipeline anti-corrosion coatings, insulation coatings, field joint coatings including material selection and manufacturing processes.
In line with Core Technologies transverse mission, technical support related to other usages of non-metallics in rigid pipeline and in other TechnipFMC product lines is expected. Support to Projects (pre & post award), Manufacturing Units and Supply Chain is also required as appropriate.

Job Description
- Provide technical support on non-metallic materials for Rigid Pipeline Technologies projects, focusing on anti-corrosion and insulation coatings.
- Conduct material assessments and testing for qualification and project needs.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and Gate review approvals.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to coatings and ensure compliance with project and client specifications.
- Support fabrication and supply chain teams to ensure high-quality project execution.
- Participate in non-conformance investigations and root cause analyses.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and IP teams to secure necessary agreements.
- Prepare technical reports, guidelines, procedures, and specifications.
- Stay updated on coating technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and R&D.
- Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and in technical publications.
- Act as a consultant on materials engineering across product lines.
- Conduct supplier technical audits and deliver training sessions.
- Deepen product knowledge through research, analysis, and expert consultation.
- Support CoE materials initiatives for simplification, standardization, and industrialization.
- Ensure safety and compliance in material development and application.
- Deliver work efficiently and in line with design rules and procedures.
Requirements
- BEng/BSc and MSc/MRes in Materials Science or equivalent.
- Strong expertise in non-metallic materials, especially anti-corrosion and insulation coatings for rigid pipelines (necessary).
- Beneficial experience in offshore/subsea industry and lean best practices.
- Up-to-date industry knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.
