Materials & Fabrication Manager

As a Materials & Fabrication Manager you will be a part of Core Technology organization and responsible for leading the team of discipline engineers and material package engineers in the field of Materials Engineering. The team contributes to projects, tenders, studies and CoE support for governance activities and interfaces globally with other Project & Tender teams, Materials Science CoE as well as disciplines in One Engineering. In this role you will be responsible for personnel management, workload planning, resource allocation, competence development and budget handling.

Main responsibilities

  • Managing Materials & Fabrication Project Support team (HR, HSE and Quality).
  • Enabling team and personnel to deliver in accordance with industry standards and contract in a cost-effective way.
  • Actively contributing to developing the materials engineering roles and fostering materials engineers able to handle integrated scope.
  • Maintaining operational efficiency by managing workload and resources and by ensuring allocation to projects and utilization.
  • Ensuring that work is planned and executed in accordance with TechnipFMC policies, procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Handling budget and ensuring adherence within area of responsibility.
  • Driving continuous improvement within the area of responsibility.
  • Authority and duty to stop ongoing work when there is a HSE or quality performance related risk. 

Required education and experience

  • M.Sc. in Materials Engineering or similar Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Leadership experience will be an asset.

Required interpersonal skills

  • Pro-active attitude and flexible mindset.
  • Skilled in leading technical meetings internally and with client/suppliers.
  • Skilled in coaching engineers on technical issues.
  • Capable of supporting technical negotiations with client/suppliers.
  • Good communicator with ability to motivate, inspire and build an engaged and competent team.
  • Behaviors consistent with TechnipFMC vision and core values. 

Required technical skills and/or problem solving skills

  • Knowledgeable in Materials Engineering work processes and governing documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in TechnipFMC’s products and systems, clients and sub-suppliers.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standards driving the materials selection, fabrication and intervention requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in how changes influence the total project execution and cost.
