Functional Safety Engineer

Join us and undertake functional safety engineering activities to support product lines and projects. This role offers a great opportunity for professional development within a highly skilled TS&R team with a global portfolio of work. 

Job Description

The role will require you to work on both a product and project functional safety. For products you will be expected to support the product lines to achieve SIL certification and from a project perspective you will be required to support in the management of functional safety at a system level. 

•    Prepare and scribe HAZID, HAZOP and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) workshops 
Development of: 
•    Engineering, Safety and Reliability Plans 
•    HAZID, HAZOP & LOPA Terms of Reference 
•    Safety Requirement Specifications 
•    Safety Analysis Reports 
•    Safety Manuals 
•    Functional Safety Management Plans 
•    Participation in Functional Safety Assessment (FSA) verification activities.  

You are meant for this job if:

  • Degree within a relevant field of engineering
  • Experience within the field of functional safety management
  • Experience working on safety instrumented products or systems
  • Ability to conduct probability of failure on demand calculations
  • Knowledge of either API 17N or IEC 61511 / (08) or other equivalent standards

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge and experience working with safety instrumented software and, or electrical hardware systems.
  • Past experience in similar role
