Job Purpose

The Fasteners SME is a global technical expert responsible for supporting the organization with specialist knowledge, technical governance, and compliance related to fasteners. The role contributes to standardization, simplification, and industrialization (SSI) initiatives and works closely with the Global Fasteners SME and other key engineering functions. It also provides support to the global fasteners technical lead in all fastener‑related matters.
This role is based in Kraków and requires working from the office 4 days per week. 

Responsibilities

  • Act as a product expert
  • Provide expert engineering knowledge about product to other engineers, supply chain and quality teams
  • Support technical governance authority (global fasteners technical lead) in areas of:
    • Fasteners governance- part creation, maintenance and obsolescence of fasteners
    • Efficient handling of requirements and reuse the requirements
    • Supporting and taking initiative to standardization, simplification, and industrialization (SSI)
    • Ensure that relevant technical requirements are adequate to meet client and Industry standards, regulatory requirements in an efficient and cost-effective way
    • Contributes to the client/supplier relations through presentations, meetings, interface
  • Establish, maintain and update technical product documentation and user documentation for the products
  • Support and lead technical problem solving
    • Handling of Quality notification
    • Identifies & addresses problems & opportunities that are relevant to the products & to the business
  • Support the continued competence development of peers within the discipline area
  • Support the development and improvements of Guidelines and specifications within the scope of the role and discipline
  • Active contribution in global communication knowledge management platforms on matters related to the discipline area

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant product-design or materials engineering experience (minimum 3+ years specific relevant experience)
  • Good knowledge of metallic materials.
  • High level of knowledge of engineering practices, design methods and calculations. Applying fundamentals of safety
  • Good knowledge in engineering processes. Experienced in execution of the engineering processes in work.
  • Basic knowledge of Geometrical Tolerances (GPS and GD&T)
  • Good knowledge of drafting and relevant tools (NX, AutoCAD, etc).
  • Planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in relevant engineering tools (e.g., Mathcad, Teamcenter, SAP).
  • Operational level of knowledge* in identifying risk and risk related scenarios, supporting risk assessment and implementation of identified gaps from industry standards and client specifications technical specification.
  • Operational level of knowledge* of relevant codes and standards related to fasteners and bolted connections.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementation of lean tools, philosophies, and practices
