Job Description:

  • Works independently on standard projects as a reference and participates in more complex projects under supervision of more senior engineers
  • Completion of engineering work packages and development activities under the TechnipFMC subsea R&D program
  • Able to apply complex engineering principles to subsea pipeline design and installation activities of TechnipFMC
  • Developing and validating simulation models using Abaqus
  • Performing studies including pipeline installation by reeling and pipeline thermo-mechanical analysis
  • Interpreting analysis results, and providing design recommendations
  • Compiling feedback presentations and technical reports
  • Cooperating globally with members from cross-functional teams to consult and resolve design challenges
  • Mentoring and support to less experienced engineers
  • Relating engineering solutions to cost and time.

Requirements:

  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Design, Civil and Structural Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finite element analysis (FEA), including complex non-linear FEA (large deformation, plasticity, contact problems)
  • Good knowledge of material strength, free-body diagrams, and mechanics
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Strong technical skills in engineering
  • Project management skills
  • Presentation and some coaching skills
  • Good communication skills, team-player spirit, and a can-do attitude
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Good command of English

 

Optional (as an asset):

  • Scripting capabilities (e.g. Python, VBA, Matlab)
  • Experience in ANSA/HyperMesh
