Job Purpose

The Quality Manager Manufacturing in REMS Kongsberg is responsible to lead quality assurance and quality control within Kongsberg Manufacturing Plant, ensuring achievement of product and process quality requirements in alignment with customer requirements and applicable standards. 

The Kongsberg Manufacturing Quality team consist of 15 direct reports within the area of Goods receipt inspection, Shipping inspection, QN coordination and Quality Control.

Job Description

  • Proactive collaboration with cross functional resources to ensure prioritized support from quality in operational and strategic matters.
  • Ensure timely support on operational matters concerning the required output of quality requirements through analysis of data, implementation of preventive measures and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to Quality REMS Norway yearly goals setting and ensure those are cascaded into own department.
  • Support Manufacturing strategic goals, e.g., digitalization and Industrialization 4.0 initiatives within the quality area of responsibilities.
  • Work with performance gaps and continuously improve with the mindset of Simplification, Standardization and Industrialization of operational activities and processes.
  • Ensure competency development and utilization of resources across quality functions and areas to fully optimize and support Manufacturing demand.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present KPI Quality data supporting Manufacturing and ensure support where needed.
  • Ensure Manufacturing are supported and guided when it comes to ensuring compliance to quality processes and support to close potential gaps.
  • Participate and support Manufacturing in Internal and External ISO standards compliance review
  • Ensure competency gaps are managed and closed and with required and skills for the different quality function and roles within own department.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Have a degree within engineering or equivalent work experience. 
  • Have minimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience with 5 or more years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Have knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection, auditing, calibration, data analysis techniques, and quality cost principles.
  • Passion to drive and lead Lean Transformation
  • Have knowledge and experience with Industrial Standards Organization (ISO) standards and familiarity of American Petroleum Institute (API) quality requirements.
  • Have working knowledge of process improvement and problem-solving techniques like Lean, Six sigma, 8D disciplines, structured root cause analysis process etc.
  • Are a dedicated team player and individual with a sense of pride in your work.
