Job Purpose

Manager - Materials and Fabrication support, Projects and Tenders is responsible for leading the teams of Discipline Experts and Package Materials Engineers in the field of materials and fabrication engineering to support the sub system within One Engineering. This includes personnel management, resource allocation and planning, staffing, competence development and service development. The department provides support to studies, tenders and projects for (i)EPCI deliveries in Norway and other regions as requested. In addition, the team interfaces with peers in Core Technologies and other disciplines for CoE governance, technical requirements and R&D activities. Manager - Materials and Fabrication support, Projects and Tenders is responsible for ensuring timely and adequate involvement of engineer from the team in tender and project deliverables.

Job Description

  • Manages and develop team members on a day-to-day basis
  • Actively contribues in strategic discussion and goverance work withing One Engineering and Core Technologies leadership team
  • Provides input to department budget and ensure adherence within area of responsibility
  • Enables team members to deliver in accordance with client requirements and industry standards
  • Actively contribues to develop Core Technology roles and fostering engineers able to handle integrated scopes, support the TechnipFMC project operating model
  • Garantees the timely delivery of all tenders and projects deliverables
  • Assist the team for relationship with FE&IE, Project management teams and clients
  • Coordinates with Core Tech Pipeline fabrication manager to deliver an efficient support to VSO and spoolbase operations

You are meant for this job if:

  • BSc /MSc or equivalent within Materials Engineering, Chemistry or another engineering discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of discipline experience from the oil and gas industry, preferably related to one or more of the roles and competence areas of the team
  • Pro-active attitue and flexible mindset
  • Skilled in leading technical meetings internally and with clients/suppliers
  • Skilled in coaching engineers on technical issues
  • Capable of supporting in technical negotiations with clients/suppliers
  • Good communicator with ability to motivate, inspire and build and engaged and competent team
  • Knowledgeable in Materials and fabrication engineering roles within SPS and SURF projects
  • Knowledgeable in TechnipFMC's products and systems, customers and sub-suppliers
  • Knowledgeable in industry standards driving the materials selection, fabrication and intervention requirements
  • Knowledgeable in how changes influence the total project execution and cost
  • Former experience as manager will be considered an asset

Practicalities

  • Workplace is Kongsberg or Lysaker, permanently Kongsberg from Q1 2027. Presence at both sites is expected
  • Knowledge in Teamcenter, Proarc, part report structure and eSMDR is an asset
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Norway, without sponsorship
