Job Purpose
The Interface Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all internal and external project interfaces to reduce risk, prevent scope creep, and ensure on‑time delivery. Acting as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, and internal disciplines, the Interface Manager ensures that interface information is clearly defined, tracked, and resolved throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Description
- Lead and execute Interface Management activities in accordance with company processes, policies, and the Global Business Process Management System (GBPMS).
- Establish and maintain the project interface management framework during project mobilization, including interface procedures, registers, and need dates.
- Act as the primary contact point for interface matters between the client, external contractors, and internal project stakeholders.
- Operate and administer the project’s Interface Management systems (internal and client systems), ensuring consistent structure, traceability, and reporting.
- Ensure interface information is issued, received, and closed in line with agreed schedules, and proactively follow up overdue or at‑risk items.
- Identify interface‑related risks, gaps, or potential contractual changes and report these to Project Management with recommended actions.
- Chair and participate in internal and external interface meetings, ensuring actions are clearly defined and properly followed up.
- Support and guide project participants in the use of Interface Management tools and processes, including training where required.
- Capture and share lessons learned to improve interface execution across projects and departments.
You are meant for this job if:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Control, Systems) or Business Administration.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience depending on level of education.
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering or Project Engineering, with at least one full project lifecycle completed.
- Strong understanding of multi‑disciplinary engineering environments and contractor interfaces.
- Experience working with interface management systems and structured project processes.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and meeting‑management capabilities.
- High awareness of cost, schedule, and change management impacts.
- Ability to train, guide, and mentor project team members.
- Culturally aware and comfortable working in international project environments.
