Job Purpose

Are you our new Buyer joining our experienced procurement team in Controls & Automation in Kongsberg, supporting manufacturing and projects?

We seek to strengthen our team of highly skilled buyers in Controls & Automation Procurement supporting Projects and Manufacturing in Kongsberg. The packages you will be working on are big in both complexity and value, so your work will have a high focus and importance for the company. You are required to work well under pressure and cooperate with multiple stakeholders in an international environment with highly capable and professional coworkers.

Job Description

• Fulfills inquiring and purchasing activities within time and budget
• Makes sure all the information necessary for issuing the inquiry is available
• Check the purchasing conditions are applicable to the project and if not, reports to the Procurement Manager/sourcing lead
• Expedites bids
• Negotiations with vendors
• Prepares the purchase order documents in due time and checks for quality
• Ensure recept of supplier documentation according to commercial agreement
• Close out QN’s/ECN’s relevant for purchasing
• Communicate order status with internal stakeholders, and ensure accuracy of system data.

You are meant for this job if:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Technical Degree
• Highly developed analytic, problem-solving skills and solution oriented
• A willing to learn and gain a deeper product knowledge to be able to proactively understand and identify commercial impact
• Proficiency in communication and negotiations, and capable of professionally chairing internal and external meetings.
• Ability to identify process weaknesses and make recommendations to processes and workflow improvements to reduce costs and/or increase quality and /or efficiency
• Be committed and proactive, have a strong sense of collaboration, able to make decisions and learn from every situation
• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in country without sponsorship           

Skills:

• Ability to work in a cross functional team environment and lead discussions
• Maintain high professional standards and promote good team dynamics
• Curious to learn and have an interest of Technology
• Capable of conducting commercial negotiations for complex products
• Good communication skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
