Job Purpose

Leads and coordinates the activities within a self-directed team environment to ensure that production and performance commitments are fulfilled.  Trains, monitors and coaches team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner. 

Job Description

  • Reviews daily team requirements, coordinate activities and plans and coordinates overtime requirements.  Ensures that labor reporting is accurate and balances with time sheets.  Monitors performance, quality, safety and housekeeping and reports deficiencies to assembly manager.
  • Receive project schedule from assembly manager/engineer, plans and coordinates the assembly/test activities of assigned team to ensure that production commitments are met. Utilizes LEAN and Operational Excellence methodology to meet assigned goals including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Coordinates the maintenance and upgrade of assembly/test tooling and equipment to ensure manufacturing capability exists to meet organizational objectives.
  • Prepare requisitions, orders, and equipment lists, for supplies, parts and services.
  • Assists during assembly of components in areas of expertise.  Teaches assembly technicians proper techniques and procedures for mastered key subassemblies. 
  • Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work.  May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands.
  • Completes required test documentation including ASY/TST reports, failed test reports (FTR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). 
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area.  Practices good housekeeping in work area. Prepare JSA, HIRAC for assembly/test activities.
  • Communicates business priorities and production requirements and ensures that team members understand and are committed to meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Ensures that members are functioning as a unit and are integrated around the performance requirements of the team.
  • Interfaces with the assembly manager, assembly engineer, other team leaders and site support groups (maintenance, engineering, sales, service and suppliers) to utilize resources effectively to optimize “total business performance”.
  • Assists engineer with design, sets-up, maintains and utilizes test stations and test equipment for factory and system acceptance testing. 
  • Troubleshoots problems, identifies, and communicates design discrepancies with engineer. Identifies and suggests design improvements to assembly engineer.
  • Recommends improvements on assembly/test procedures to engineer.
  • To adhere company HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policy, rules & regulations

You are meant for this job if:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in assembly & test
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Must possess excellent communication skills: written, oral and listening.
  • Excellent skills in problem solving, team building and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment. 
  • Must model the behaviors defined by organizational beliefs, personnel policies and citizenship principles.
