Workshop Service Technician IV

Job Purpose

• Performs specialized and complex assembly and tests of mechanical/ hydraulic assemblies. Act as technical referee in a specialized field and/or coordinate a small team of technicians

Job Description

• Assembles and tests assemblies according to specifications. Applies specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise

• Completes required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports and NCRs. Assists with FAT’s and SIT’s

• Assists with design, sets-up, maintains and utilizes test stations and test equipment for factory and system acceptance testing

• Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates design discrepancies. Identifies and suggests design improvements

• Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components and sub-assemblies from one work or storage area to another as required

• Collects and inputs information in specific systems for cost tracking purposes

• Suggests improvements to Assembly Procedures. May draft new procedures as assigned

• Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area

• Supports in training and orienting less experienced colleagues. May act as coordinator of a small team of technicians

You are meant for this job if:

• High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma

• 5 years of experience in field

• Proficiency to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation in assembly

• Knowledge/ use of integrated systems and more tools, complex equipment and techniques
