Job Purpose

The Engineer will be responsible for implementing and executing Survey activities related to Subsea Oil & Gas development. Provides engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Provide survey support to construction and survey projects from tendering through planning, preparation and field execution.
  • Assist with technical and commercial input to tenders.
  • Responsible for the development of survey scopes of work and review of sub-contractor procedures and task plans.
  • Liaise with on & offshore project team and survey sub-contractors in the daily support of construction and survey projects.
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers and customers in defining and sourcing suitable project equipment - oversee ordering, checking and timely delivery of equipment to worksites.
  • Attend onshore calibrations and liaise with third party services.
  • Participate as required in project handover / contract review / technical assurance process.
  • Contribute to survey briefings with key personnel / other project personnel.
  • Manage sub-contractor in the production and timely delivery of reporting and data deliverables.
  • Act as liaison on behalf of project both with internal and external interfaces.
  • Provide support and experience transfer to internal stakeholders.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or other relevant education (Surveying or Engineering) or relevant industry experience.
  • Broad survey experience in construction/engineering support gained over at least 5 years preferably both onshore and offshore.
  • Specific knowledge and understanding of current offshore survey techniques in ROV based surveys, construction support, LBL installation and calibration, subsea metrology and dimensional control.
  • Strong understanding, both theoretical and operational, of survey methodologies for supporting construction and survey projects (preferably experience with Pipeline surveys: Touch down Monitoring, Pre-lay survey, As-laid, As-trench & Backfill surveys as well as Out of Straightness Surveys and spool metrologies).
  • Strong communication and procedure/report writing skills - written work of a high standard and presentable quality.
  • Ability to manage Client interfacing and technical interfaces with subcontractors, Projects and other stakeholders.
  • A keen interest in new technology and innovation and how to implement this into a competitive advantage.
